  • "I know it's your work, but it feels like it's mine."

  • "I hung your picture in my living room so when I come home from work and sit on my couch, it's
right there in front of me to see."

  • "We painted and set up a shelf on our wall, then put figures from your photo around it to make it
    our own."

  • "The universal quest in life is a development and appreciation of our senses.  It is these
physical mechanisms that allow us to interpret, conceptualize and accumulate knowledge.
Pleasure and pain translated by sound, vision or abstract thought becomes a noble quest of our
existence in this world.  Rick Lodmell has followed this philosophy all his life and now captures
the beauty and abundance of this world through his photography."

  • Rick Lodmell could have composed a song to demonstrate his love of the Hennepin Canal.  He
could have set a story scene within it.  But the way the multi-faceted artist now prefers to
celebrate his inspiration is through photography. . . Wherever Lodmell finds himself working,
from the Hennepin Canal and roads near his Henry County home to Arizona and abroad, he lets
himself be guided to his photographic subjects. . . What will always continue in his work is the
desire to convey to viewers a beauty that is beyond humankind. Being able to share the beauty,
    that's paramount.
