Rick Lodmell Art Photography -- Colona, Illinois

It’s all about sharing love, man.
                                                                           --Sunshine, 1975-2005

Rick Lodmell approaches images (sometimes seen in dreams) that ‘pull’
the camera to them.  Waterways of the Upper Mississippi Valley -- play
of light or wind on their flowing surfaces, the cycles of nature -- hold
special appeal.  Unexpected surprises -- still lifes, portraits, ‘macro’
shots -- also fill these works.
Photos taken as seen can often work best.  Others suggest mood and
reflection in black & white or, even, through digital manipulation.
Sharing beauty serves as the only guide.

Music inspired artistic pursuit in childhood.  Its rhythms led to writing
explorations and understanding languages shared among all living
things.  If love of beauty guides you, perhaps some part of it greets in
the galleries shown here.

Each of us see life from different angles.
Photography captures single moments.
Yet even these produce individual responses  and
impressions of meaning -- that
wonderful mystery found in art.
